Many thanks for taking the time to download this Rebel Riffs material.   The song contained within the zip file is called The Directors Cut    We fell about laughing the first time we heard these vocal samples and just had to include them in a track.  The Germanic director is particularly good, 'specially the way he syncs in with the track.  One of the best RR tracks in recent months in our humble opinion.   This is a track from a soon to be released cassette - a 15 song all XM set called 'Stone Cold Crazies'.  For more details on obtaining tapes of RR material, email us at any of the addresses shown.    Also as usual, the track is somewhere in the region of 7 mins long, which is partly the reason for it's HUGE file size.     Many apologies for these extreme sizes but both the material and the samples take up lots of space - you will see why when you play the file........

  9. An unusual entity which combines the talents of a top flight record producer, a seasoned arranger, vulgar and ill-mannered musicians of all shapes and sizes and as many samples and patches as we can lay our hands on!.  We have several addresses dotted around the online world:

The files we generally make are not MOD files per se, but DOS EXE files (similar to demos) because of the file limitations of the tracker program we use (Dynamic Studio).  We will continue to release our tracks this way - even though it means GUS users only - because of the power and style of the music we make.  If you have a GUS card, download a Rebel Riffs track and you'll see what we mean.

  24. Dynamic Studio (SUPPORT SHAREWARE AND REGISTER!) is a 16 Channel MOD tracker with some absolutely Dynamite features......check it out if you see the demo version anywhere...or you can get a copy of the demo direct from Rebel Riffs be emailing us at any of the above addresses

We've also started to release material in the XM format in order for more folks to hear the Rebs in action, full discography can be found at the end of this file.  All XM's are tested on a variety of soundcards (best on a GUS obviously:-)) and players including Cubic Player (the best of the best!) for DOS and Mod4Win for Windoze (the best for Windoze but where's the Windows tracker??).

Being the aural magpies we are, the samples we use come from everywhere (but special thanks to Sound & Vision BBS, SunSite Europe for their extensive patch libraries).  Patches used in the very latest tracks may also come from the excellent SoundWave collection from Chad Gould (cgould@gate.net) and from the ever-expanding collection of great sample CD's from Time and Space (http://www.timespace.com).   Other than that, the main vocal and fx samples come from the following Internet Newsgroups: alt.binaries.sounds.movies, alt.binaries.sounds.misc, alt.binaries.sounds.cartoons, alt.binaries.sounds.tv etc.  You will also find Rebel Riffs themselves are active on most of the 'binary' and 'mod' type newsgroups (ie alt.binaries.sounds.mods etc)

  30. The samples you can use, the song is copyright.... but you can record it onto anything you choose for personal use.  You may not use it professionally without our permission!   We give you the track for nothing, we would not expect you to try and make money from it.
